A practical guide from the team at Puranmal Sons & Ceramix Syndicate.
GVT means Glazed Vitrified Tile and PGVT means Polished Glazed Vitrified Tile. Both are glazed vitrified tiles; the difference is mainly the surface finish. PGVT has a polished, glossy top, while GVT can come in matt, textured, satin or other finishes.
PGVT gives a bright, reflective, marble-like look popular in living rooms and showrooms. GVT's matt and textured finishes offer a more understated look and better grip underfoot.
PGVT suits living areas and spaces where a glossy premium look is wanted. GVT matt/textured suits bathrooms, balconies and outdoor or high-grip areas where a polished surface would be slippery when wet.
Pick the finish per space — gloss where you want shine, matt/textured where you want grip. We stock a wide range of GVT and PGVT designs; ask us for options that fit your project.
